Welcome to the wiki of the Cypher System for Foundry VTT! Here you find explanations and usage examples for each of the different actor types, how to set up and use the macros, and tips and tricks.
For a user manual or general support for Foundry VTT, see the official homepage [↗︎], the official Foundry VTT Discord Server [↗︎], or the Foundry VTT wiki [↗︎].
Upgrading to Cypher system v2
If you are upgrading to Foundry V10 and Cypher system v2, refer to this section: Upgrading to Foundry V10 and Cypher System v2
Setting up a game seems a bit overwhelming at first, but I tried to make that first step as easy as possible. I have written up an explanation on how to get started.
This wiki is currently a bit outdated. There have been a few changes in the system and the documentation can’t keep up.
The wiki is slowly, and sometimes even steadily, build. Most of the basic structure is already there, but lots of the content is missing. Let me know if you want to help!
“Cypher System”, or “Cypher” for short, refers to the ruleset used by Numenera, Cypher System, The Strange, and other games.
“Cypher System game system,” “Cypher game system,” and “Cypher system” (note the lower-case “system”) refer to the Foundry VTT game system implementation of the Cypher System.
You can find the change log of the latest release on the here.
The Cypher FVTT Dev Discord is where the development of the system is coordinated and its future discussed, but anyone is welcome to join and share best practices, ask questions on how to use the system, and share self-created resources for your games.
You can also reach me on the official Foundry Discord or via Discord DM: @mrkwnzl#7407.
You can ask questions, file bug reports, and request features on GitHub. If you want to contribute code to the system directly, please refer to the Contribution Guidelines before you do.
If the Cypher System for Foundry VTT makes your games more accessible and fun, I’m grateful for a coffee:
On this Buy Me A Coffee page I also have a blog, where I post update notices. You can follow me there (you don’t have to pay for that) to get the newest release notes.
