1. name (ARIA Authoring Practices)

What are pros and cons of "ARIA Authoring Practices" vs "ARIA Authoring Practices Guide"?

2. tagline

Brief explanatory phrase with important point (e.g., Supplemental Guidance includes “not required to meet WCAG”, Rules has "For developers of evaluation tools and test methodologies" to clarify that it's probably too much for others)

Consider a short phrase that would:

  • provide context for people who land here from a search engine and don't know about ARIA, &/or
  • clarify an important point, &/or
  • address a common misunderstanding
  • provide expansion of "ARIA"

<joking>maybe "No ARIA is better than bad ARIA" ;-)

3. link to About page (About ARIA Authoring Practices)

Note EOWG can help with ideas on 1 and 2 if useful. (@iadawn probably has ideas)

Let's use the following:

Name for banner:

ARIA Authoring Practices Guide (APG)

Tagline:

How to build accessibility semantics into web patterns and widgets

@shawna-slh, do you think you could help resolve w3c/wai-minimal-header-design#96 so the banner content is understandable for screen reader users?

I have created #44 to track the additional task of creating the new user intro page for the banner href. I'd like to consider that additional link and content a stretch goal for the launch. We will definitely include the title and subtitle.

I reviewed the preview of #62, and it has addressed this issue.
