Redundant sidebar?

I feel that the top bar and the sidebar on the bootstrap branch is redundant. Thoughts?

It may be a little redundant, but we can always put whatever we want in there. It might be a good place to put sidebar content relating to the particular page, like additional webpages to visit.

Either way, I think having it split up is visually more appealing.
