Is there a way to configure this so notifications do not cancel the pane monitor?

When a process finishes and a notification gets triggered, the plugin stops monitoring the pane for future process completions. Is there a way to configure the plugin to only stop the monitor when I use prefix + M? I would like to just activate the monitor once and be able to run several commands that each notify on completion.

Or have I misconfigured something to get this behaviour?
