When a user uploads a file with errors, the ODE shows them IN the table (specific cells). The tool also offers an error summary within the validation button:
How to reproduce the problem
Open the Open Data Editor.
Go to ADD
Select a file with errors from your laptop (I added numbers on a column containing text, left a couple of cells empty, etc)
Suggested solution
As soon as the user uploads the file, get an error report if there file contains error.
The report should include:
Total number of errors detected.
Error location. For example: A122
Type of error
Other comments and suggestions
Keep the error view in the table.
Keep the validation button without in red or other color when the ODE finds errors in a specific file, but remove the number next to the word ERROR.
Give the user the chance to copy or export the errors report.
