I've been getting the same error myself, rather frustrating as my OS Project uses this awesome plugin to display/announces the weather for the user. |
I looked into it further and looks it's an issue with https://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public (not so much v1/public), but with the query.yahooapis.com address. It's saying no IP Address is found. Can this be resolved asap? |
weather.yahooapis.com and query.yahooapis.com for Yahoo Weather API retired. Yahoo says that endpoint should be changed to https://weather-ydn-yql.media.yahoo.com/forecastrss. |
That makes perfect sense! Could this be included in the next update or release please? If you could that, it would be greatly appreciated. I love this plugin so much! |
Please see https://developer.yahoo.com/weather/. You would need to create an API key, whitelist your app and use OAuth1. I wonder if it would be better to use an alternative data source like https://openweathermap.org/api. Let's wait and see what monkeeCreate says. |
+1 Thank you |
See #308 (comment) for some details and link to another project using a more reliable API. |
hi -
seems like the simpleweatherjs.com domain lapsed, and while that may not be related (just noticing that now) the weather embed is returning "There was a problem retrieving the latest weather information." after working great for about 1 month.
no error message, no timeout, nothing in the console. anybody else experience this?
thanks!
