tag any content change as a release, which also puts it in the Releases tab on GitHub and would make it more transparent.

I've also spotted the option to get notifications for releases without subscribing to notifications on all activity: on the "Watch" menu, under "Custom".

If this works, I should see a notification whenever there's a new release, without having to get a notification whenever there's a new signature.
