Open Community Working Meeting 2022-05-20 - 12:00 PT

Zoom Meeting link: https://postman.zoom.us/j/89562933116?pwd=OWlsQ0RrcDY4S1JQU2d2Q2M0aFFlZz09

Agenda: Compiling!

Topic Owner Decision/NextStep
Review last call's action items @Relequestual
PR: Add changelog for 2020-12 patch 1 release documents - (json-schema-org/json-schema-spec#1232) @Relequestual Left open to wait for review
Do we need another release candidate? json-schema-org/json-schema-spec#1191 @Relequestual Agreed on call we don't need another release candidate. Will ask others not on the call via slack - @Relequestual - @gregsdennis raised that there was an outstanding Issue. We should review this and look to move to PR. @gregsdennis to PR.
Greetbot is going away. We can move to using a Slack workflow, but what should we say differently?
Currently: https://github.com/json-schema-org/community/blob/main/slack-greetbot
@Relequestual Greeting should be updated. @gregsdennis: Should be shorter. Link out to other channel descriptions. @jdesrosiers : Current #general channel message is broken.
YouTube banner. OK for now? Pick another offering? - Slack thread - How YouTube crops the banner image @Relequestual @gregsdennis: I've heard the white text gets lost. @jviotti: We could get a whole social media image package. @Relequestual: We need to work out what we want first.
Enabling VSCode support updates - microsoft/vscode#98724 (comment) - Wants help with formats, meta-schemas, and bundling. @Relequestual can introduce via email if helpful. @Relequestual @jdesrosiers: Format valdiation is optional so shouldn't be a top concern. @gregsdennis: There's a plugin that uses my library to provide 2019-09 and 2020-12 support! - @Relequestual to provide comments and ask questions: Note that format MUST be non-validation by default, and query why the concern with bundling.
Is this meeting format working? How can we improve it? @Relequestual @jdesrosiers: Would like to use more of the time for discussion about Issues and PRs. @Relequestual: Yes, I agree. Would like to have some automation to make this easier. Picking up a specific tag.
@jviotti: It would be useful to have a community review section. What's the community been talking about this week? @Relequestual: Maybe. When we have a technical community manager they could do this.

AOB?
If you want to discuss any other business not on the agenda, please add comments during the meeting.
If we do not complete the agenda, your discussion item will likely be rolled over to the next call.

Action items:

Notes:
YouTube custom URL - We are unable to get jsonschema or jsonSchemaOrg or anything related, evne though they are unused (previously used cannot be re-used). @Relequestual has attempted to reach out for support, but support are unwilling to help. Trying some other channels, as YT are allowed to reclaim channel names.
