Graphical Glitches Playing FMVs with OpenBIOS and Dynarec CPU #1845
Comments
I'm unable to reproduce this locally on my Windows machine. Can you verify that |
As another update, Resident Evil Director's Cut is also affected. You can hear the audio from the demo playing while the screen is still frozen on the Capcom logo, so maybe this is visual only somehow? |
I'll try with RE as well - if you can provide disc checksums as well that would help ensure I have the correct images to test against. |

Describe the bug
When used with OpenBIOS on my Fedora 41 machine, PCSX-Redux suffers severe graphical glitches when playing e.g. the opening cutscene in Final Fantasy VII. Green squares flash across the screen before the video locks up entirely, although audio continues playing normally. This behavior only occurs when Dynarec CPU is being used.
I tested with the official PSX BIOS and the issue does not occur.
Expected behavior
The FMV should play normally.
