Customer issues

When using the Give feedback link, for legal compliance reason customers need to find a way to remove that button or show our user this is going to send data externally to Grafana Labs.

To enable customers meet their compliance requirements, we will:

  • Update the feedback form to make it more explicit that any submitted data will be sent to Grafana Labs (perhaps linking to the privacy policy).
  • Implement a Grafana-wide configuration option that can disable the feedback link for customers that require it.

Possible solutions

In order of ease and preference, we can do one or more of the following:

  1. Update the feedback form to make it explicit that any submitted information will be sent to Grafana Labs. We can advise users not to submit any confidential or sensitive information, and link to Grafana Labs' privacy policy.

  1. Update the feedback form to include a mandatory confirmation checkbox that the user understood that the submitted information will be sent to Grafana Labs.

  2. Explore Traces and panels such as the Trace View will honor a global Grafana configuration option enabling admins to disable the feedback links in an OSS or Enterprise setup.
