For Nextjs based static website, how can I get avoid adding .html suffix to the URL?

Latest Next.JS static pages generator create plain pages
index.html, about.html in the same directory instead of having index.html, about/index.html

I try to make my website urls look like this mydomain.com, mydomain.com/about

but I have to include the .html.

How can I, using lift serverless.yml config, define an cloudfront function, something like that

I only managed to do it manually.
