Not working in Waterfox 56.2.8 #24
Comments
Another site: https://www.consumerreports.org/health-insurance/aca-health-insurance-cost/ Fails to block animated "smooth" scrolling on page up. |
In the meantime you can use this script https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/19654-animalquery/code loaded in https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/violentmonkey/ It's experimental and not very stable, but seems to work on these pages in Waterfox 56.2.8 and .9. |
@MarjaE2 can you recall which version of the extension was affected? Version 1.1.8 appears better, to me, with home-built Waterfox Classic 2019.12 (20191210201058) on FreeBSD-CURRENT. Tested:
The animated scroll up at https://www.consumerreports.org/health-insurance/aca-health-insurance-cost/ occurs with Firefox 71.0 (not only with Waterfox Classic). A suggested workaround: |
Version 1.1.8. On Freepress.net, scroll down to the list of topics. There's a section titled "Free & Open Internet" with a picture. Mouse over the picture. That jumps down and to the right on my end. |
Thanks,
The same here, but it's not specific to Waterfox Classic. There's the same jump with Firefox 71.0. With both browsers:

Hi,
I have a strobe sensitivity and visual motion sensitivity. I currently use Waterfox because I haven't been able to adequately block the Firefox Quantum throbbers, and because I lost my last usable Firefox installation in a Nightly accident.
I use a number of other tools to try to protect against animation, sticky elements, etc.
Sample Page: https://www.freepress.net/
If I mouse over any of the topic sections there (Net Neutrality, Future of Journalism, etc.) I get punched with animation as images move down and to the right:
