I have pinned ente auth to the dock in Ubuntu 24.04. When I click the icon, the applications launches. Instead of a dot right next to the icon, a generic icon is shows up for the running application.

The problem seems to be fixed when adding the following line to enteauth.desktop:
StartupWMClass=Io.ente.auth

Can confirm, I have this same issue and I think the cause of this is that the deb isn't installing a .desktop file properly. I have to run the app via ALT-F2, no entry in the menu. When an app doesn't have a .desktop, the generic icon is the default behavior, IIRC.
