There's a few common causes of being broken:

In general, applies to DeviantArt ripper:

• Site changed enough that the old code is broken

For DeviantArt specifically:

• User did not understand that (or how) they needed to set DeviantArt login cookies in order for the ripper to work
• 403 possibly due to rate limiting (user reports being banned from DeviantArt for a few days every time they try)
