Alright, I’m dreading looking at this post just based on the title because of how much time I’ve spent on this.

A few things:

  1. You can upload your video or other files to cleanshot.cloud or Imgur. The issue is most likely that you’re trying to upload a file that’s too large.

  2. As a test, please try the following:

  • Have only one window open on the desktop, with all others minimized.
  • Try looping to grab the color and see if it changes.
  • If the color does change, we know it’s a window-related issue.
  • If it doesn’t change, there’s likely an error in the way it’s being returned.
  1. Another thing you can try—though it’s unlikely to make a difference—is updating to the newest dev build.

Here’s an example of the windows:

Can you try removing Loop's screen capture access from System Settings and then re-granting it? A terminal command to do this quickly is:

tccutil reset ScreenCapture com.MrKai77.Loop

@MrKai77 I've been having the same issue here. for some reason, it uses the gradient setting as the setting for the wallpaper syncing. I tried tccutil reset ScreenCapture com.MrKai77.Loop, and it didn't help.

And just to verify, the colors don't change at all? Not even turn black (I believe that should be the default value if the screen capture fails)?

@MrKai77 for me they change to black if gradient is enabled only one to black.
