I'm trying to open the app but nothing appears.
I do see it on Activity Monitor but nothing else. The privacy popup doesn't appear and I'm not even able to enable it on the Reminder privacy settings.

I already tried to uninstall and install again the app.

MacOS Sequoia 15.0.1
Latest app version

Is this a known issue? Thanks!

Hi, I just created this because I have the same issue. MacOS Sequoia 15.0 / fresh app install.

I tried installing via direct download and via Homebrew. In both cases, the app doesn't open, and I don't get the prompt to enable the app permissions.

Is there a fix?

I have the same problem. MacOS 15.1, new app install via brew. It shows in Activity Monitor but not in my menubar.

@carmelopalumbo, @iamdamienkuntz, @timlockridge, thanks for reporting this, this is not a known issue.

I have the app, version 1.23.0, running on macOS Sequoia without any issues.

I'm trying to think of a few items that could help us investigate this further:

  • Could you please confirm if the issue is still occurring? What is the App version and macOS version?
  • After trying to open the app, does anything appear on the screen? Any window, warning, popup, menubar item?
  • Opening Activity Monitor does 'Reminders MenuBar' appear in the process list?
  • In the past we've had issues (and found a workaround) for users who were using a patcher to install a newer version of macOS on unsupported Macs. Are you using something similar to this (like OpenCore Legacy Patcher)?
  • Could you download this repository, open the project in Xcode and run it locally? Since this issue does not reproduce on my side, it would be helpful to see if running Xcode on your machine any error or message provides insights into what might be happening.

I appreciate your help investigating this.

Hi! I tried again today on MacOS 15.2!

It turns out the prompt to allow access to reminders did not appear automatically, and the app was hidden behind the notch. Quitting the hidden bar and all the other menubar apps made the icon appear, which, when clicked, gave the prompt to authorize access to reminders.

So all is good on my side, sorry for the confusion!

(still don't understand how the notch works with menu bar icons)

Thanks for checking @iamdamienkuntz. In fact, the prompt to authorize access to reminders should only appear when clicking on the MenuBar icon.

@carmelopalumbo, @timlockridge, please also check if the MenuBar icon is hidden due to other icons or the notch, as @iamdamienkuntz mentioned.

I still have the same problem on 15.3. I click the icon to launch the app and (seemingly) nothing happens. The app shows in Activity Monitor but does not appear in the menubar. I'm using a Mac Studio & Studio Display (so no notch), and it's not hidden due to other icons. If I go to the Privacy & Security > Reminders system settings panel, I don't see it listed there either.

I'll run it via XCode later this week and let you know what happens.
